Shalini Parekh
Shalini Parekh, MPH is a Research Associate in the Office of the Associate Director of
the Applied Research Program. Ms. Parekh previously served as an Emerging Infectious
Disease Fellow, Public Health Analyst, and Study Coordinator at the Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention in Atlanta. During her 7 years with CDC, Ms. Parekh worked in the
Divisions of Malaria, Diabetes, and STDs. Prior to obtaining her MPH, Ms. Parekh was a
microbiologist with the Markey Cancer Center at the University of Kentucky, and conducted
work on pancreatic and prostate cancer cell lines. Her background and expertise include
diabetes risk factors, health disparities, molecular-level cancer research, statistical
analysis on SAS and SUDAAN, and large-scale study coordination and epidemiological
support.
