The economic burden of cancer in the United States is substantial and projected to increase due to a growing population of cancer survivors and the escalating costs of cancer treatment. A coordinated and sustained effort is needed to build research capacity, identify leverage points for intervention, and translate and disseminate research findings to inform policy and practice.
