Janice Hsu

Dr. Ya-Wen (Janice) Hsu is a Visiting Scholar in ARP's Risk Factor Monitoring and Methods Branch. She received her B.S. in public health from the National Taiwan University in Taiwan. Later she went to the University of Southern California, where she earned her MPH in health communication and her Ph.D. in preventive medicine with a focus on health behavior. Dr. Hsu is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Hospital and Health Care Administration at the Chia Nan University of Pharmacy & Science in Taiwan; she is also an associate adjunct research fellow at the Chi Mei Medical Center. Her research has focused on mixed methods to measure activity, sleep, and metabolic health in minority populations and on determinants of obesity. She is particularly concerned with understanding how behavioral, psychosocial, metabolic, and social forces interact to influence behavior and health.
