Priyanga Tuovinen

Priyanga Tuovinen is a Program Analyst in the Office of the Associate Director of the Applied Research Program. Mr. Tuovinen a received his Master's degree in Public Policy and Management from the John Glenn School of Public Affairs at The Ohio State University. He began his federal career in 2009 as a Presidential Management Fellow (PMF) and received the NIH Intern Innovator Award in 2011. After the two-year PMF program, Mr. Tuovinen converted to a position in the Office of the Director (OD) of the Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences, where he was involved in a number of Division OD activities and initiatives, including grants coordination, communication, planning contacts, contract management, and special projects.

Prior to federal service, he held senior research administrator positions at The Ohio State University, University of Nevada Las Vegas, and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. In those positions, he was involved in the pre- and post-award management of grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements; provided administrative, financial, and policy guidance to investigators and their staff; and acted as the institutional business official to federal, state, local, and non-profit funding agencies.
