Validation Studies of the Past Year Total Physical Activity Questionnaire (PYTPAQ)

Friedenreich et al. 2006

See reference #83

Methods
PYTPAQ summary values compared to 1-year averages of physical activity logs, accelerometer data collected four times during the year, and baseline/follow up VO2max (Spearman correlations, intraclass correlation coefficient)
Sample
79 female and 75 male healthy Canadians aged 35-65 years
Summary Results
Intraclass correlation coefficients:

PYTPAQ and the 7-day PA logs:
Total activity = 0.42 (95% CI: 0.28, 0.54)

PYTPAQ and accelerometer data:
Total activity = 0.18 (95% CI: 0.03, 0.32).

PYTPAQ and VO2max:
vigorous hr/wk = 0.37 (baseline)*
= 0.32 (follow-up)*

* p < 0.001
